We also read pages 302-304 aloud (295-297 in the red books) from Great Expectations and had a lively discussion regarding the role of money in one's personal happiness.

All classes: we read and discussed two of Robert Browning's famous dramatic monologues about psychos: "Porphyria's Lover" and "My Last Duchess." I recommend reading through the Shmoop guides carefully if you missed this discussion, as there was no written work assigned regarding these poems, but both will appear on the Victorian Period Unit Exam in May. Everyone is to have read chapters 1-5 in Great Expectations by tomorrow.
All classes: We finished Jane Eyre Bingo, looking for the Byronic Elements in Jane Eyre as we watched a Jane Eyre film adaptation. This version is available streaming on Netflix. Everyone turned in their bingo cards at the end of class for a grade.
1, 2, 6, 7: We held the Mr. Byron 2015 Pageant. It was hilarious. Our winners were Bea F, Imani H, Sean R, and Andrew C. We will resume Jane Eyre on Monday.
