Mrs. Firth introduced the background of John Keats before we went on to watch a spiffy slide show of images of British Springtime (not available online) and listened to the sound of the nightingale's song. We then began reading Keats' "Ode to a Nightingale," but we only made it through Stanza II.

evaluated Percy Bysshe Shelley's "To a Skylark" and "Ode to the West Wind" for irritating, b-class Romantic qualities, but then Mrs. Firth had a department emergency so we stopped there for the day. 3, 4, 6, 7: We finished the last two vocabulary words on the Romanticism #2 list.
